Your Therapist

Sheila E Bell, RGN, MNSPH

I currently work as a nurse practitioner for NHS Lothian and, through my speciality, I became interested in hypnotherapy as an alternative for those patients I encountered who suffered from refractory Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS).  I decided therefore to look into the training for this and after much research into the options I decided that the Scottish School of Hypnotherapy offered the complete training I needed, but to make sure, I enrolled in a taster weekend run by the school.  The weekend was both informative and eye-opening and the start of a journey that continues to take me by surprise.  I completed the course and qualified in both suggestion and analytical therapy and now use these skills to help clients with many and varied issues, from weight to phobias and confidence in performance and life in general.
Although fully qualified and practising, I continue to be amazed at the effect hypnotherapy can have on people - including myself.  I was lucky to receive therapy from the Director and Principle Trainer at SSH, Kate McEwen, during which she helped me to address a problem I had had for some years - with resounding success and I have had no problems with this since.  TBC
